Timiya Jackson is a Denver Public Schools parent, an educator, and a candidate for the Denver school board seat currently held by Michelle Quattlebaum.

Jackson has more than a decade of experience working across schools and youth-serving nonprofits to help students succeed in and out of the classroom. Currently she serves as a reengagement specialist with Douglas County Public Schools.

In this podcast episode, Jackson discusses with hosts Alexis Menocal Harrigan and Alan Gottlieb the need for greater transparency in Denver Public Schools, the distressing state of learning among the district’s neediest students, and why she views herself as uniquely positioned to serve the residents of District 4.

Jeremy Harris is the third candidate running for the District 4 seat. Boardhawk hopes to have him, and all candidates for all seats, on the podcast at least once between now and the November election.
