Jeremy Harris is one of four candidates vying for the Denver school board seat currently held by Michelle Quattlebaum, who is running for reelection.

Harris is the president of Harris Funeral Directors, a mortuary located in Aurora. He is the parent of a son who attends Denver Public Schools.

Harris opposes what he describes on his campaign website as “lessons on sexuality, racism, and gender identity-based curricula in K–8 education.” In general, he stakes out positions that in some cases are more conservative than is typical in a Denver school board race.

In this podcast interview, Harris discusses his positions, his view of current DPS governance and leadership, and how he differentiates himself from other candidates. He also addresses the issue of his 2012 felony theft conviction in his native Memphis, Tenn.
