Parents muzzled at State Board of Education

Several parents affiliated with Transform Education Now (TEN) were scheduled to present testimony Oct. 7 before the State Board of Education about the need for direct assistance to families (see this article by TEN’s Nicholas Martinez). Rather than let them speak via video, staff stepped in and provided a summary, which was inaccurate, according to TEN leaders. TEN posted the full testimony on its blog. It is worth a read, to gear directly from those most affected by district failures to provide an adequate education during the pandemic.
