Boardhawk is hiring a reporter!

Boardhawk is hiring a part-time community reporter to cover Denver Public Schools and its Board of Education.

T. Michael Boddie, our stalwart reporter, is moving out of state and taking a reporting job on a big-city daily paper, covering K-12 education. As sorry as we are to see him go, we are pleased that his experiene with us qualified him for his new position.

You can read the job description and information on how to apply here. Here is some basic information on whom we are seeking:

You are an experienced beat reporter with an interest in – and preferably experience reporting on – education and social issues in urban environments. You are comfortable writing for an organization that takes an advocacy approach to its journalism, yet your reporting will be impeccable and unbiased. You either have experience in writing enterprise and investigative, data-infused stories, or you are eager and open to learning from Boardhawk’s experienced editors.

Work hours are flexible, but you will be required to cover school board meetings, which take place in the late afternoons and into the night, several times each month.

If that sounds like you, please apply!
