Dr. DJ Torres has declared his candidacy for the central Denver (District 3) school board seat currently held by board President Carrie Olson, who is term-limited and cannot run again.
Torres has been a special education teacher in Denver, as well as a central office administrator. Since then, he has worked for Sandy Hook Promise, a national gun violence prevention nonprofit.
